Just recently I had a birthday dinner with some of my friends. I wanted a light flower theme–spring-like. I often see videos and photos online of at home dinners decorated with lights, streamers, all of it basically. They look so cute and fun that I figured I want to try something similar. Last year I went out to
a restaurant with friends, it was fun but I knew I wanted to do something different.

I looked through pinterest for specific ideas and all I could come up with was wanting flowers and candles set on the table. I have to give credit to my mom for helping me come up and decorate it since I think I'm one of the most indecisive people at times. Anyway, it started out 2 nights ago when we ordered some long candles online but they didn't exactly fit the vibe I was going for nor did they fit the candle holders. This left us with one option and that was to find candles at a nearby store. We did though order these wider circumference short candles that I spread out throughout the table, those I liked.
The day of the birthday dinner I spent it vacuuming, washing the floors, and preparing. My mom went out to buy the decor which included a variety of flowers and desserts. When she came home the clock started ticking because we had a couple hours to prepare the food and decorate (this sounds easy but I promise we were rushing).
I didn't exactly plan how everything was gonna look, I kept an idea and worked with what I have and really liked the result. I took some inspiration from pictures I saw online and replicated some details like using wine glasses as cups and tying little bows on them. I think that was one of my favorite things. Once I had the flowers on hand I started cutting some short to place into these mini vases I got off of amazon to spread around the table. This idea came from trying to find ways to decorate the table with flowers. After I filled those up, I took out the big vases we had in the house and my mom and I decided to make the centerpiece of the table a vase of white tulips. Then on the side of it we simply placed the flowers as they were and placed candles around.
WARNING!! FIRE HAZARD!!! Do NOT light the candles, I understand it's aesthetically pleasing but it is very dangerous because the flowers can literally light on fire—USE FAKE CANDLES PLEASE.
Back to what I was saying, once I put the candles around, we took out the fancy dishes and placed them at each seat.
Here's the final product:
